Signs & Designs opened its doors for the first time in 1982 in the beautiful city of Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia.

We, like most other sign shops of that era, were mostly 'brushmen': that is, nearly all the signs were hand lettered using enamel paints.
More often than not, we were required by the customer to design a logo and an image as well as produce the signs.

'Computer aided design' hit the sign trade and totally revolutionised the way we did things.
Now we could produce signs in a fraction of the time!

Unfortunately, for many years this 'quickie sign' approach tended to not leave time for the many important aspects needed to create a really good advertisement - things like: interesting, readable layouts, eye catching colour combinations and above all - copy with impact!

Only in recent years have we seen a return to these basic rules by the few dedicated sign designers like ourselves who have a love of the balance, colour and flow of what is in fact a unique form of art . . . with the ability to generate its own income!

A good sign is not an expense - it's an investment!

Although we provide a comprehensive sign service, we especially welcome the opportunity to create another, one of the unique signs for which we have become known by our customers.
